Promise Me Always cover

I promised I'd post it and here it is, better late than never! :)This is the cover of my trade fiction book coming from Barbour in December 2006--PROMISE ME ALWAYS. I'm so excited about this Pinky Promise Sisterhood series. This initial book has been in my heart for a very long time, even though it's gone through a metamorphosis of sorts over the years. It will be nice to finally see it in print.

Today, my friend, Joyce Griffin and I hosted the ladies luncheon at church. Joyce is so talented! And nobody brought a camera!! I just can't believe we didn't get a picture of the beautiful table she set. (I helped with the actual labor, but I stayed out of the way and let her work her decorating magic.) Our theme was Arkansas. I'd suggested back in September when we signed up for April that we use that theme and I'd give every one a free book as part of the deal. Well, Joyce took the theme and ran with it! She made placemats with miscellaneous Arkansas facts and pictures. (This blog even made it onto the placemat!) They looked professionally done. It was all just beautiful and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Back to my previously scheduled month of isolation. (See last entry)

Peace and Joy to you all!

Nothin' in this world worth turnin' around to see

Monday begins a month of voluntary isolation. :) I have to buckle down, put my nose to the grindstone, and any other cliche` you can come up with that means WORK HARD! I'm going to take my laptop to the empty office in our building and hide away from the phone, the drop-in company, and alas, the internet. Between 9:30 and 2:30 every day, I'll be incommunicado. Miss me. Miss me a lot. :) Sometimes we just have to redefine our focus, put our eye back on the goal. That's what I'm doing in my writing life. And lately, I've been doing that in my spiritual life, as well. Refocusing on Him. Easy to get distracted in this old world.

There's a song I like that says something like,

There's nothin' in this world
Worth turnin' around to see
My eyes are on the prize
That's awaitin' me by and by
and I'm a gonna keep on workin'
Til he comes, oh yeah.

I love that. Beautiful song.
Night!

Happy April!

I know, I know. I skipped a day of blogging. Hey, maybe I was just April fooling when I said I was going to try to do it every day. Yeah, that was it! April Fools!

We went to see Ice Age 2 tonight. Pretty cute movie. :) The girls loved it. We rearranged the girls' rooms today, giving them much more space, so I guess it's just been a good day all around for them. No writing today, though. Company, company, company. It was great to see everyone though. And my sis, Jan helped me move furniture, etc. so that was super appreciated!

Well, we lose an hour tonight so I guess I'm going to turn in for the night. Three of the four of us have bad headaches tonight, so I'm really hoping it's not a virus. Our gospel meeting starts at church tomorrow and I want to be feeling great!

I'll try to post the cover of Promise Me Always tomorrow. :) Sorry!

Happy April! :)
